Totally Annoyed

Two posts in one day! Maybe I am on a roll!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Our Christmas was perfect. The BBQ was delicious and I made an extra big pot of chili beans so there would be plenty left over in case the BBQ ran out! I sat and stitched and Harold tinkered with his toys while waiting for the snow. The snow finally arrived late Christmas evening and continued on through the next day. Harold and I decided to wait a while on our gifts because neither of us were really sure about what we wanted. We both have way too much stuff anyway!

With Harold being home, I haven't had quite as much time to stitch but I try to pick it up while we watch the evening news. Here is an updated photo (actually I am farther along than this now). As I mentioned before, I joined the Crazy January Challenge but more for incentive than anything else. I went through my stash and filled a basket with a lot more than 15 charts! How could I just choose 15 when I have so many waiting to be done? For now, my plans are to work mainly with my present stash and try to limit buying extras. I will pull them out to work on as I go along. They mostly range in size from medium to large. I will introduce them as I start and just let each one be a surprise. I like surprises!

I want to finish up AWWR and hopefully several more before March or April which is when I usually take some of past years work in for framing. I do some of it myself but I like to have the special ones professionally framed. Last year, I took in 4 and I would like to take in as many as 6 this time. It's pretty much a once a year thing so I look forward to it so I can see my wall fill up. My goal of having AWWR finished by the end of 2010 is looking dim but I think I can wind it up by the middle of January.

Here comes the totally annoyed part of this post. I decided to pull out some of my WIPs to set aside for working on this coming year. I knew of several in particular I wanted to see finished. Upon going to my WIP basket, I discovered they were gone! I started going through drawers, closets and anyplace else I could think of they might be hiding but no luck. Where did they go? Who took them from their basket? No one wants to admit to the dirty deed or just doesn't remember doing it. I have learned a valuable lesson from this -- no more WIPs! I have to finish what I start or take the chance of losing it entirely!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Your visits and comments always make my day brighter!

Love your list for 2011 (in your last post). Love your WIP too! Glad you had a good Christmas. I sure hope you find your WIPs. They have to be somewhere, right? I hate when things disappear, but stitching disappearing -- that's really bad! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find your WIPs. Have a happy, healthy New Year!

Oh, I hope you find your WIPs. The culprits need to be flossed, lol.

Your current WIP looks good.

I'm foregoing the 16 WIP Challenge. I have a hard enough time with the ones I have going now, lol.

Glad you had a nice Christmas.

Your Shakespeare's Peddler WIP is looking great! I have it in my stash too.
You probably put your WIP's somewhere "safe". That's what I do, then can't find them. :)
I have been struggling over the January Challenge with too many items that I want to do too. I am posting about my "revisions" today.

I am terrible about starting but not always finishing and have joined the wip January challenge. I hope to be better about that in the futrue. But no promisies. :) I love getting them started. LOL I know I have misplaced some wips but always manage to find them. I do hope yours turn up. Probably where you least expect them to be.

A very happy and healthy New Year to you and yours.

Disappearing WIPs is not an unheard of problem. I hope they turn up, and I'm excited to see what projects you pull out for the crazy stitching challenge. :)

I hope you find it soon. This happened to me once with a stitchery WIP I had worked on for weeks. It was found about 6 months later between the wall and my little ones bed. I blamed everyone except me, the one who dropped it there!!!

I do hope that you find your WIPs as soon as possible. Here we have a saying: "The house never loses anything", so they must be somewhere, lol.
I'm already very curious to see what you chose for the Crazy Challenge.

Hey there, Sherry! I'm not sure I would be upset if all of my WIPs came up missing! LOL! I'm sure you will find yours in the least expected place.
I'm glad you had a good Christmas! Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing your projects.

Oh goodness, Sherry, I do so hope your wips show up! I know sometimes I move things, and then I can't remember where I moved them!

Good luck with the challenge, I have decided to work on a wip challenge, I have so many things started already!

You have made good progress on this pretty!

Gulp on the missing WIPs!! I hope you find them. My DH's idea of "cleaning" is to stuff things places, but it's always a guessing game as to where exactly those places might be. The kids & I do a "okay, think like Dad" thing. We're still looking for DS's phone charger! I spent a few days searching the entire house for the charts I pulled for the challenge, organized my stash, cleaned out cabinets, until finally I asked had he seen a stack of charts. YEP! He'd put them away. Oy.

Best of luck with the challenge! I can't wait to see what you decide to work on. Like you, my list is waaaaay over the 15... and that's without consulting all the other lists I've made in prep for the 15!

Happy new year to you & your family!

Sherry,
I am sorry for your loss. I find it extra sad that death can happen on Christmas Day when it's such a beautiful day of birth, hope and peace but it is a day as well and in some ways it is a joyful thing to be taken to heaven on such a special day.

Blessings to you,
Tanya

hope you find those soon!

I know I misplace my WIPs and the floss alot.

I bowed out of the "challenge" this year. I have many of those already in my career and I cross stitch for a hobby. LOL

I love the spontenaity of picking and choosing what and when I want to stitch.

I do hope yout cold gets better. Nothing more miserable than that. And don't pressure yourself too hard on deadlines for stitching.....it's a relaxing experience.

I'm catching up on blogging right now and read your New Year's resolutions. You have set some excellent ones.
Stay warm and cozy,
Jennifer
