Back Home!

Thank you to all who have left comforting comments about my Dad. Yes, it is hard. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think anything like this would happen to him. I always think of him as a strong, confident, independent person and to suddenly, without any real warning, see him in his present condition is very upsetting. I received a sudden call last weekend that the doctor had said it would be a good idea for the family to come so I have been out of town this past week. Once again, his condition was very touch and go. When I left on Friday, he was beginning to show some improvement but there is still a long road ahead of us all.

And thank you for also leaving comments wishing me well also. This is definitely not a good time for me to be ill. I was able to get in to see my doctor before I left town and he seems to feel that one of my new medications was causing the problem. He has taken me off of it and so far so good! Fingers crossed!

I did not work on my stitching much this past week but I hope to find some time for it this week! I took this picture of my current progress since I haven't posted any of my work in awhile (or so it seems to me). After getting back home from a long and emotional week, I told Harold that I may not be waiting too much longer to get some new stash! I am also thinking of a new start! I know I should finish up the present one first but.........!

Thank you all for stopping by to see me! Your friendship means so much to me especially during these emotional times! Until next time, may you have simple days and an uncluttered heart!

Oh Sherry, my heart goes out to you...the illness of loved ones is very tough to deal with. I watched my mother care for her Mama and then her sister and I understand the emotions. Please take care and know that we all love and pray for you and your father's well being.

On happier notes, your WIP is looking good and I know that new stash will be just the thing to get your mind off the present and there have been so many good things coming out lately and more to follow!

Sherry, I'm glad your dad is recovering, even if it is slowly. I'm also glad to hear your feeling some better. Hope the meds were the culprit!

Sherry, I am sorry to hear that your Dad had another set back. I so totally understand what you are going through. After the past few years of caring for my mother until her passing I can say I know how difficult it can be.

If you need someone to talk to please don't hesitate. Like I said I have been there so I know. Heck, with all the times my Mom was ill the nurses, aides, and therapists all were offering me jobs! :)

Take care of yourself too. I know, easier said than done. But do try for a few minutes of stitching each day. It helps. I know.

Hugs to you Sherry. It's so hard when loved one is ill -- and to have to worry about being unwell yourself as well too. I hope you hear some good news about your dad and he continues to get better. Your WIP is looking good BTW!

Sherry I was behind on my blog reading so had to go back several posts to catch up with you. I am hoping your dad continues to improve - it is unnerving I know to get those calls that you better 'come'...I've been there and done that a few times now having moved 1800 miles from my family. It is hard when you don't live there and you juggle your own life with what is going on there. I am sorry too to hear your own health issues...I hope the doctors can get your medication adjusted correctly so that is one less worry for you. Having your hands flare up and hurt is so upsetting as we can't even stitch to relieve the stress we're under. Take care - I am sending you warm wishes for better times ahead.

Big hugs, Sherry. I can imagine how hard things are for you. Take care of yourself, and know that your dad is in my prayers.

Your WIP is lovely, and shoot--if new stash or a new start makes you feel good & alleviates some of the stress, I say go for it!
