I made up my wish list for Santa! So he should have plenty to choose from now for both occasions coming up!
1. Gift Certificate (always well appreciated and used)
2. A new sewing machine. This is only a maybe.
3. I found several stitching books I want.
4. A new programmable coffee maker.
5. Subscription to Coffee of the Month Club at the Flying Bean
Harold surprised me by telling me that we are going to Biltmore Estates to see the Christmas decorations sometime over Thanksgiving week! I have never been there at this time of year and am so excited to see all the holiday splendor!
Started a couple of smalls but I can't show them yet as they for gifts and exchanges! But I spent a good part of yesterday practicing on scissor fob finishes since I have never done these. I used a tutorial at Annette's Acre (http://www.annettesacre.com/lessons/scissorfob.html). *pulling out my hair* It was AWFUL! I tried over and over and even several different ways! I don't know what I am doing wrong but I just can't get it to look right! The corners are so bulky they don't stitch right, and the stitched edgings don't want to meet properly! To put it bluntly, each try was a disaster in it's self! I will glad to hear any hints or tips that could help me out!

OH, yikes...sorry your having a gard time with the fob tutorial...you should ask dear Carol, heaven knows she's a pro at fobs! :)
Your list looks great for Christmas...I've asked for money from everyone so that I can get some new quilts for my living room (we drape them over our sofas so that the kids don't ruin them) and two new lamp shades...mine are about ready to bite the dust...due to kids knocking them over...and then the balance...I'm going XS shopping :)
Oh boy, finishing is not my strong suit! I feel your pain! I can't wait to see your photos of the Biltmore at Christmas! And good choices on the Christmas list.
I have trouble with finishings too that is why I try to steer clear of them. The fair and square exchange ended up being perfect for that. My wish list for Christmas is going to be simply getting projects framed at the framers.
So sorry that you are having problems with finishing. I think it's one of those things that comes with practice, practice, practice. Good luck on future ones.
The last time you posted about Biltmore Estates, I Googled it - wow, that looks like an amazing spot to see all decked out in Christmas finery!
I did finishing today, too. Sigh. I don't think I'll ever really be confident of my skills in that area.
I don't stitch small precisely for that reason - I'm hopeless at finishing. I hope you find a way that works for you.
