Orts and Ends

Back in December I said I was going to hold off on buying any more designs for awhile. I did wait awhile - until the end of February! lol. But now it's time to get serious again, I will hold off on buying any new charts until the next Market! *fingers crossed* DMC and fabrics are fine and trading designs is okie dokie too but no buying designs for awhile! I must be strong! *big pout*

Borders. Not the geographical kind but the stitching ones. How do you feel about them? I am not a border person but I will do them depending on how much of the feel of the piece is in the border. Some pieces just aren't complete without the border. Did that make sense?

Over the weekend, I took some of my old orts and scattered them around the yard on tree limbs and bushes for the birds since nesting season is here for them. Nothing like adding a little color to the home! A lot of times I use an old suet feeder to put all my orts and ribbons in for them and that works pretty good too.

Our weather has been beautiful the past few days. Sunny, warm and just a delight to open the windows and air out the musty ol' house that was closed up over the winter! Today's forecast is calling for rain. A good day for stitching and getting even closer to finishing up this current WIP.

I need to be strong and stop the stash buying as well. I don't know if I'm strong enough though. lol! I love the idea of putting your orts out for the birds. Wouldn't it be great to see a colorful nest! We've been nice and warm too. I'm hoping it stays that way. Spring please! lol!

I know the feeling about needing to stop buying patterns. I have so many I know I will never stitch them all. heck, with luck I might get through a 10th of them. As for not buying more? I'm too weak. I am a stash-a-holic and not ready to quit. LOL

Borders. It all depends but mostly I like them. They seem to finish a piece.

I am not usually one who is swayed by others but lately, seeing all the beautiful samplers everyone is working on has caused me to buy way more charts than I could ever stitch!! No will power for me right now. I love beautiful borders and samplers that have colorful, intricate borders are more appealing to me. Have a blessed day! kelley secrest

I have to say that I love a killer border every few years!

Threads and ribbons are nice. We always put the dog hair from brushing out - all that soft inner fur - to help make a cozy nest - and with 2 great pyrennes you have lots of fur!

Happy Stitching!

I haven't been able to get to buy any new stash recently! Everytime I plan a trip to my LNS, something comes up - snow, more snow, sick boys, broken oven - when will it ever end!

Hey Sherry, well it is rainy and cooler here in Middle Georgia, so watch out it may be heading your way.

I am still stash buy, but it is only fabric and missing fibers!! But a stash diet is good especially for the pocketbook!!

Have a great week.
