Long Time No See!

I wish I had a lot of news to share but alas it has been dull around here lately. Actually, I'm not complaining though because many of you have read my motto that "dull is good". Mother's Day was quite which was also good. Harold and I went out for a bit. He wanted to get some tomato plants to put out (but I will end up doing it and tending to them)! I have been wanting a nice herb garden. Maybe next year. I want to get speciality herbs. Especially mints but I also like dill, lavender, thyme and parsley. Later in the day he decided to take me out to eat. Maybe because I told him I wasn't going to cook and he could make a sandwich! lol. Every restaurant was super crowded or getting ready to close early. We finally ended up going to our favorite Mexican place. Beans and rice will really fill you up quickly!

I took a stitching break for several days. Yes, my hands were bothering me a bit but mainly because I am just getting really bored with working on Independent Mind. I keep telling myself what a treasure I will have, not to give up and to keep on plugging way since I am so close to the end! As much as I want a new start, I refuse to give up on IM now because this is definitely a special piece for me since it being stitched in my Aunt's memory. I will say though that this will be the last big piece I do for a good while! I hope to have another progress picture to share next time I post.

Flowers and bushes are blooming in our yard! I am hoping to take a few days in the near future and begin sorting out some family history pages. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me again! Your visits and comments always make my day! Until next time, may you have simple days and an uncluttered heart!

What is it about starting a new project that is so enticing? I totally understand not wanting to start something new, it makes it that much harder to go back and finish the one you put down, even if it is momentarily. Good luck on your fininshing task ahead, it will be so well worth it and lovely to boot! Your Aunt would be proud you have honored her in such a way. Smiles...

IM will be a beauty when you've done, so please don't give up!

I'ts good to have a break from stitching sometimes, then i find i can go back to it with renewed interest!

Love the new look blog BTW :-)

I hope that you don't put IM down completely. It's such a wonderful piece, but yet I know how it is when you're working on a large project - you have enough of it after a while. Starting a new project is always so much fun.

I know it's hard when you get bored with a project. Try doing a bit each day and you'll get it done! We'll root you on!

If it were me I would put IM down and start something small. Something simple like an ornament. That gives you the satisfaction of a finish while renewing your stitching mojo. IM will be all the better for it.

I like Kathy's idea! do a little something different and then return to IM...that is how I cope, I have my little smalls I do every month then I work on my humungous pieces. It sorta breaks it up and I don't get too bored with any one project! Whatever yo udecide to do, remember every little stitch gets you closer to the end. Don't give up!! Can't wait to see pics!

It's so hard to make myself keep going on a project when I get bored with it--even though I know it will be beautiful in the end. That's why I'm still not finished with Village, but since sticking with it, I can hardly wait to get back to it some days and get it done. Maybe you could just have an alternate project and limit your stitching on IM to one or two days per week.

Lovely flower - start something new is my motto if you want something different!

Sherry, I'm right there with you. I love my Sarah Woodham and enjoy working on her when I'm working on her, but am bored with it in general. It is fine to take a break and start something else--it's your hobby, after all. I keep telling myself that, but can't think of anything that I want to start. Ack!

It takes a lot of willpower not to keep adding new starts to the pile! You go on and finish IM - you can do it! I have about 5 big UFO's that just depress me even thinking about them because I have no idea how many years will be involved getting them done. And I have about 350 patterns waiting to be stitched! (I'm not exaggerating either...)
