Queen for a Day

Have I mentioned lately just how much I love our backyard? The birds, all the bird houses that they use each Spring to raise a new family, the feeders that stay busy, the rabbits that come sneaking into our yard in the early morning hours. The occasional owl, hawk or peregrine falcon that flies into our yard to sit on a tree branch and once in awhile several deer may wander into our backyard. All my plants and trees are perfectly placed and each one brings a smile. I enjoy all the seasons but it does seem that the older I get, the more I enjoy Spring and sitting out back on the deck like a queen overlooking her kingdom!

I have had my eyes on 272 Words by Primrose Needleworks for awhile and I finally gave in! Am I crazy? DH likes it. I usually give him a preview of things I am thinking of working on. This is going to be one BAP! I am stitching it on 18 count Ivory Aida fabric with the suggested threads. I have to get a little more done before I show a picture of my progress.

When I ordered this chart over Memorial Day weekend I must have been feeling the holiday spirit because I ordered several others along this same theme. Looks like there will be a patriotic wall in our house (if I can find another wall to use)! That's fine by me because between me and dh we have plenty of relatives who fought for our country and I can just vision a wall of patriotic stitching along with pictures of these family members in uniform!

I may have another new start to work on during the long drawn out process of 272 Words. When I choose which one it will be, I can officially announce it! I do want to get serious about my Mother's Tree WIP. If I just finish one line a month, I can have it finished by the end of the year. Good plan if I can stick with it!

I have been having allergy problems for awhile now. I never had allergies as a child or even a young adult but within the past 9 years, I have developed quite a few. Spring is usually the worst time for me but they can pop up anytime of the year. I have had a really hard time since February. I have been swelling up like a Macy's Parade balloon. It seemed to happen more and more often and each time it was worse. My throat, my lip, face, arms, legs, hands, feet. I even lose my voice to the extent that no one can understand my high pitched squeaks and I have to write notes to convey my messages. The doctor preached the severity of this to me and made sure I knew to get to the ER if it got bad enough I had trouble breathing. It usually takes 3 days for the swelling to go down completely then I am all bruised up like I was in a fight and I am just plain sore! My doctor was so baffled by it all that he is sending me over to an allergist to help find out what the culprit is.

Thanks for stopping by! I always enjoy your visits. Until next time, may you have simple days and an uncluttered heart!

Oh dear on those allergies! Sounds more like a food allergy -- is that what the doctor is saying? Good luck finding out what is up. You've picked a nice BAP for your next project! Fun!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new WIP! Hope they are able to figure out what you are allergic to and come up with a treatment plan.

Wow, those allergies sound terrible. Hope they figure out the culprit and get you some relief.

Good luck with your new BAP!

I am working on 272 words too! I really got some significant work done last year during the Olympics but haven't touched it since. I have it at the 1/2 way mark and plan to pull it back out in July, probably for the 4th and work it until it's done. I want to give it to my husband for Christmas! It is big but definitely doable in chunks!!! Laura

Oh my. That's scary! My husband went through a reaction and carries the shots with him now. Nothing to mess with!

Scary allergies! Hope the allergist can figure out what is causing them. Took a look at 272 Words and can't wait to see your stitching! :)

Gosh, I sure hope you have that appointment very soon!! Sounds like anaphylactic reaction! Need an "epi" pen! I just love your picture of the bird enjoying your birdbath! Too cute. My stitching buddy stitched 272 words and finished it, framed it and gave it to a family member. Imagine! ALL that time on a piece you are giving to someone else--what dedication! Have fun with it, but definitely have an alternate for in between lines... Hugs!

I love the backyard and all the birds and other critters, in the Spring, too! Your birdbath pic is awesome. Hope you find the allergy culprit - I've had a dangerous reaction to something and it nearly killed me. Very scary stuff.
I'll have to check out your new project - I'm not familiar with it (that I can recall).
